ASTANA: The first overseas polling station for Kazakhstan’s upcoming referendum scheduled on March 15 will open in Tokyo, while several polling stations within the country will begin voting earlier at military bases.
According to reports, most polling stations across Kazakhstan will open at 7:00 a.m. However, 92 polling stations located mainly at military bases will start voting an hour earlier at 6:00 a.m.Central Referendum Commission Chair Nurlan Abdirov stated that territorial commissions approved the earlier opening times after reviewing requests from the respective locations.
These early-opening polling stations are spread across nearly all regions of the country.Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry has announced the closure of polling stations in 10 countries due to the prevailing security situation in the Middle East.
