MARDAN: Jashan-e Azadi Sports Festival 2026 was officially inaugurated with the cooperation of District Administration Mardan and Regional Sports Office in Sports Complex Mardan.The Provincial Minister for Revenue and State Tariq Mehmood Aryani was the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony.He himself officially inaugurated the Independence Sports Festival by playing badminton, on which the participants showed great enthusiasm.
On this occasion, Regional Sports Officer (RSO) Mardan Sajid Khan Afridi, District Youth Officer (DYO) Mardan Sadam Khan, Focal Person Mardan Sports Complex Saqib Khan, Police Department, Rescue 1122 officers, media representatives, sportsmen and sports fans participated in large numbers.In the sports festival, hockey, badminton, volley ball, table tennis, basketball, karate, swimming, bicycle race games and karate competitions for special persons (Male) will be held. These competitions will continue till August 14, 2026.In which athletes from Mardan district will participate with full enthusiasm.
During the event, the athletes showed their amazing skills and presented attractive demonstrations of various sports including gymnastics and karate, which were well appreciated by the participants.Speaking at the event, Provincial Minister Tariq Mehmood Aryani said that the provincial government is taking practical steps to attract the youth towards positive activities and promote sports.He said that sports are the basis of a healthy society and providing maximum opportunities for sports to the young generation is one of the top priorities of the government.
At the end of the ceremony, Provincial Minister Tariq Mehmood Aryani participated in the plantation campaign by planting saplings in the Regional Sports Complex Mardan and appealed to the citizens to plant more trees.
