Dar-es-Salaam, March 23, 2026: A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission of Pakistan in Dar-es-Salaam to commemorate Pakistan Day, with members of the Pakistani diaspora and their families attending in large numbers.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. High Commissioner Siraj Ahmad Khan hoisted the national flag as the national anthem of Pakistan was played. Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were also read out on the occasion.In his address, the High Commissioner extended congratulations to the Pakistani community and underscored the importance of Pakistan Day.
He paid tribute to Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions for their tireless efforts in securing an independent homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent. He also encouraged the Pakistani diaspora in Tanzania to contribute actively towards the development and progress of Pakistan.The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the continued prosperity and well-being of the country.
