ISLAMABAD, Aug 20 (IN): The Iranian national Kabaddi team has arrived in Islamabad to participate in a Joint Kabaddi Training Camp and friendly matches with Pakistan National Kabaddi Camp trainees/team as part of preparations for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya, Japan 2026.The joint training camp is being organized under the supervision of Ch. Shafay Hussain, Chairman Pakistan Kabaddi Federation, and Ch. Salik Hussain, President Pakistan Kabaddi Federation.
The training camp will provide both teams with valuable competitive exposure, enhanced preparation opportunities, and a platform to further strengthen sporting cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.The camp commenced on the evening of August 20, while friendly Kabaddi matches between the two teams will be played from August 24 to 26 at 7:00 pm at Hamidi Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation said the visit reflects the strong sporting relations between the two brotherly countries and will contribute to promoting friendship, goodwill, mutual understanding, and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Iran.
The Federation added that such sporting exchanges play an important role in strengthening bilateral cooperation, promoting mutual respect, and showcasing Pakistan’s hospitality and sporting capabilities at national and international levels.The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation also expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Sports Board, security agencies, and sponsors for their valuable support and cooperation in successfully organizing the joint training camp.The event is expected to further boost preparations of the Pakistan National Kabaddi Team for the 20th Asian Games 2026 while highlighting the positive image of Pakistan through sports diplomacy.
