Pakistan Reaffirms Unwavering Support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal

Ambassador Dr. Faryal Leghari says Pakistan will continue extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, August 5, 2026: Marking Youm-e-Istehsal, the Embassy of Pakistan on Wednesday organized a solemn ceremony to reaffirm the country’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who continue their struggle for the realization of their internationally recognized right to self-determination.During the event, Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Faryal Leghari read out the special messages of the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, reiterating Pakistan’s firm commitment to the Kashmir cause.

Participants were briefed on the prevailing situation in IIOJK, highlighting the continued challenges faced by the Kashmiri people, including restrictions on their rights, freedoms, and daily lives.Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Dr. Faryal Leghari emphasized that seven years after India’s unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019, those measures have neither altered the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir nor weakened the Kashmiri people’s legitimate aspiration for self-determination.She paid tribute to the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, stating that their unwavering resolve continues to inspire the international community’s attention to the unresolved dispute.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled position, the Ambassador said the country stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Kashmir and will continue to extend its steadfast moral, political, and diplomatic support until they are able to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge that Pakistan’s support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir remains unwavering—today, tomorrow, and until the just resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
