Pakistan has received another petrol shipment as fuel supply lines show signs of stabilisation amid the ongoing Iran war.According to officials, a vessel carrying petrol arrived from Jizan Port as part of continued imports of petroleum and other essential cargo. The tanker, MT Petazoli, brought in 38,965 metric tonnes of motor oil and is set to berth at the FOTCO terminal.
Port sources said additional vessels are also in queue, including two carrying coal and one loaded with palm oil currently waiting at the outer anchorage.Over the past 24 hours, the port handled a total of 10 vessels, including two container ships, five bulk cargo carriers, and three transporting petroleum products. Cargo operations remained active, with 168,850 metric tonnes processed during the period. This included 136,936 metric tonnes of imports and 31,914 metric tonnes of exports.Shipping activity also remained steady, with eight vessels arriving and two departing in the last 24 hours, while three more are expected to leave shortly.Authorities said all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure efficient cargo handling and avoid delays.
Maritime experts noted that the continued arrival of large oil shipments is likely to ease pressure on the country’s fuel supply chain, ensuring availability in domestic markets. Analysts added that timely imports will also support refinery operations and help maintain a stable flow of petroleum products nationwide.
