Multan: Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani met with Rwanda’s High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou during her visit to Multan, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between Pakistan and African nations.During the meeting, Gilani highlighted Multan’s 5,000-year-old history, its deep-rooted Sufi traditions, and rich cultural heritage. He emphasized the city’s historical significance as one of the oldest living cities in South Asia.
The Rwandan High Commissioner expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and praised Multan’s cultural richness. She showed particular admiration for the city’s famous blue pottery and traditional craftsmanship.As a gesture of friendship, the High Commissioner planted a tree at Gilani House. She also visited several historical landmarks in Multan, where she took keen interest in the region’s heritage and artisanal legacy.
Chairman Senate Gilani also noted that Multan’s mangoes enjoy global recognition for their exceptional taste and quality, further highlighting the city’s international cultural and agricultural significance.
