Pakistan Welcomes Progress on Gaza Peace Plan, Reaffirms Support for Independent Palestinian State

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has welcomed the positive developments under the Board of Peace aimed at implementing the Gaza Peace Plan, reaffirming its longstanding support for a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue.In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Pakistan appreciates the sustained mediation efforts of the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye, and expressed hope that the recent progress will lead to the full implementation of all commitments under the Gaza Peace Plan.

The Foreign Office stated that these efforts should contribute to the realization of the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination through a credible, time-bound political process in accordance with international law, international legitimacy, and relevant United Nations resolutions.Pakistan reiterated that the process should culminate in the establishment of an independent, sovereign, contiguous, and viable State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
