Philippine Envoy Joins Morocco’s Throne Day Celebration, Reaffirms Strong Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD, July 31, 2026: Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, attended a reception marking the Throne Day of the Kingdom of Morocco at the Islamabad Serena Hotel on July 30, reaffirming the Philippines’ commitment to deepening its longstanding friendship and cooperation with Morocco.

The reception was hosted by H.E. Mr. Mohammed Karmoune, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Pakistan, and was attended by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Petroleum, H.E. Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik, who graced the event as the chief guest. The celebration also brought together senior Pakistani government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and other distinguished guests.Observed annually on July 30, Throne Day is Morocco’s most significant national celebration, commemorating the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne in 1999.On the occasion, Ambassador Fernandez extended his heartfelt congratulations to Ambassador Karmoune and, through him, to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the people of Morocco.

He reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to further strengthening its warm and enduring ties with Morocco, which have continued to grow since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1975.The Philippines and Morocco share friendly bilateral relations built on mutual respect, common interests, and a shared commitment to peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation.

Both countries continue to work closely in multilateral forums while expanding collaboration in trade and investment, labor and migration, education, culture, tourism, agriculture, and renewable energy.Ambassador Fernandez expressed confidence that the longstanding partnership between the Philippines and Morocco will continue to flourish, creating greater opportunities and mutual benefits for the peoples of both nations.
