Rwanda High Commissioner Marks National Umuganura Day in Pakistan with Celebration of Culture and Gratitude

ISLAMABAD, August 7, 2026: The High Commission of Rwanda in Pakistan celebrated Umuganura, Rwanda’s National Harvest Day and Thanksgiving Festival, with a vibrant gathering in Islamabad on Friday.Observed annually on the first Friday of August, Umuganura is one of Rwanda’s cherished national traditions, symbolizing gratitude, unity, hard work, community and shared prosperity. The festival reflects Rwanda’s cultural heritage while highlighting the values that continue to contribute to the country’s sustainable development and collective progress.

The celebration brought together members of the Rwandan community and their friends, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the business community and media, who joined in commemorating Rwanda’s rich cultural traditions.The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen people-to-people connections and promote greater understanding of Rwanda’s culture, traditions and development journey among friends and partners in Pakistan.Through Umuganura, Rwanda continues to celebrate the spirit of togetherness, appreciation for collective achievements and a shared commitment to building a prosperous and sustainable future.
