LAHORE, August 31, 2026: H.E. Fatou Harerimana, High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan, paid a courtesy visit to the Rashid Latif Group in Lahore, exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation between Rwanda and Pakistan in healthcare, medical education, capacity building and institutional partnerships.During her visit, the High Commissioner visited Rashid Latif Khan Medical College, where she met with the senior leadership led by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saeed Ul Hasan Chishti.
Discussions focused on the institution’s academic and healthcare initiatives and avenues for strengthening collaboration between Pakistani and Rwandan institutions.H.E. Fatou Harerimana also toured the University Teaching Hospital, where she was briefed on medical education, clinical training and healthcare facilities. She later visited Hameed Latif Hospital, where discussions centred on healthcare cooperation and opportunities for greater knowledge exchange, with particular emphasis on organ transplantation and cancer treatment.The engagement underscored the significant potential for enhanced Rwanda–Pakistan cooperation in healthcare, medical education, professional training and institutional collaboration.
Both sides highlighted the importance of sharing expertise and building partnerships that can contribute to improved healthcare outcomes and stronger bilateral relations.During the visit, H.E. Fatou Harerimana also invited Rashid Latif Khan University to participate in the upcoming Pakistan–Rwanda Investment Forum, scheduled to be held from September 23 to 25, 2026, in Kigali, Rwanda.
The forum is expected to provide an important platform for exploring investment opportunities, institutional partnerships and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.The visit reflects growing engagement between Rwanda and Pakistan and highlights the potential for healthcare and education to serve as key pillars of the expanding bilateral relationship.
