Rwanda-Pakistan Investment Forum to Open New Avenues for Trade and Investment

ISLAMABAD, September 18, 2026: The Rwanda High Commission in Pakistan on Friday hosted a press conference to announce the upcoming visit of a Pakistani business delegation to Kigali for the Rwanda-Pakistan Investment Forum, scheduled to be held from September 23 to 25.The press conference was addressed by H.E. Harerimana Fatou, High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan, followed by remarks from Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Patron-in-Chief, Pakistan Africa Economic Council (PAEC).

The 15–16-member Pakistani delegation will comprise representatives of the country’s business and investment community and will hold meetings with Rwandan government institutions, business leaders, investors and private-sector representatives.The delegation will explore opportunities in trade, investment, joint ventures, manufacturing, technology and business-to-business partnerships.A key highlight of the visit will be the signing of a Bilateral Trade Agreement between Rwanda and Pakistan, described as an important step towards strengthening the institutional framework for bilateral trade and investment.High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou said the Investment Forum reflected a broader effort to transform Rwanda-Pakistan relations into a stronger economic partnership, particularly in trade, investment, technology, manufacturing and private-sector cooperation.

She highlighted Rwanda’s strategic position as a gateway to the wider African market and encouraged Pakistani companies to view Rwanda not only as a market but also as a destination for investment, production, joint ventures and regional expansion.She said the signing of the Bilateral Trade Agreement during the Forum would mark a significant milestone in further strengthening economic ties between the two countries.Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan said the Pakistan-Rwanda Investment Forum was an important initiative at a time when Africa, particularly East Africa and Rwanda, was emerging as an increasingly important destination for global investment.He highlighted Rwanda’s peace and stability, competitive business environment, skilled workforce and investor-friendly policies, saying these factors offered significant opportunities for Pakistani businesses.

He added that the participation of the Pakistani delegation would help identify new avenues for trade, investment and employment, including greater opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled youth.The Rwanda High Commission expressed confidence that the visit would further strengthen business-to-business engagement and economic cooperation between Rwanda and Pakistan and open new avenues for investment and mutually beneficial partnerships.
