Three people, including two women from Kohistan, sustained critical injuries when a passenger car plunged into a deep ravine along the Shangla Alpurai Road on Tuesday, according to local sources and rescue officials.The accident occurred when a family traveling from Kohistan was passing through the mountainous Shangla route. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a deep gorge.
As a result of the crash, all three occupants of the vehicle suffered severe injuries, while the car was extensively damaged. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle rolled down the steep slope before coming to a stop, making rescue efforts challenging.Upon receiving information about the incident, local residents rushed to the scene and immediately began rescue operations. Rescue personnel also arrived shortly afterward and, with the assistance of local volunteers, successfully retrieved the injured individuals from the ravine.The victims were provided with first aid at the scene before being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Alpurai for emergency medical treatment.Hospital sources said that the injured sustained multiple serious injuries and fractures. Due to the critical nature of their condition and the need for specialized medical care, doctors referred all three victims to Saidu Teaching Hospital in Swat for further treatment.
