MARDAN: Chairman of the Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party and Chairman of Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja, has said that the country needs visionary leaders capable of understanding and fulfilling the aspirations and needs of the nation.“We prepare leaders, not workers. Pakistan needs leaders whose vision is of a high standard and who possess the ability and competence that the country demands. We do not want a situation where the leader’s vision is different from that of the nation,” he said.He was addressing members of the Future Leaders Youth Parliament in Mardan at a special invitation extended by Chairman Save Life Foundation Hakim Khan and Youth Parliament President Engineer Irfan Khan. Khawaja received a warm welcome upon his arrival in Mardan.The Future Leaders Youth Assembly, organised under the banner of Human Rights Protection and Social Justice, continued for more than two hours. Members of the youth parliament, young leaders and parliamentarians attended the session, which also included an interactive question-and-answer segment.
Addressing the gathering, Khawaja said that the youth were the real strength and capital of any country. “We are proud of our youth and have complete confidence in them. We do not talk about disappointment or hopelessness,” he said.He claimed that the Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party had undertaken a number of initiatives for public welfare despite not being in government, particularly in the fields of healthcare, e-commerce, employment and technical education.“This is proof that we believe in delivering rather than merely making promises,” he said.Responding to questions from members of the Youth Parliament and students, Khawaja said that, unfortunately, Pakistan had not found a truly representative leader with a clear vision during its 79-year history.“We will change the destiny of this country and eliminate the frustrations of our youth. The youth are our future, and we take pride in them. Through our young generation, we will put Pakistan on the path of development and progress,” he said.
