ISLAMABAD, September 7, 2026: On the occasion of Pakistan Defence Day, cadets of Pakistan Sweet Home Cadet College Sohawa and children from Sweet Home Islamabad paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the nation through a spectacular parade, demonstrations of military training skills and colourful tableau performances at Lok Virsa, Islamabad.A large number of city elders, dignitaries and citizens attended the ceremony and appreciated the impressive performances by the cadets and children.Addressing the gathering, Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home and former MNA Zamurd Khan (Hilal-i-Imtiaz) said that the names of those who had rendered unparalleled sacrifices for the defence of the motherland would always remain honoured and respected.
He said September 6 was not only a day of national pride but also a day of immense honour for the mothers whose brave sons sacrificed their lives for the dignity and sovereignty of the country.“Today, we pay tribute to those who laid down their lives in defence of Pakistan. Every Pakistani stands shoulder to shoulder with the country’s armed forces in safeguarding the homeland,” he said.Zamurd Khan also announced that Pakistan Sweet Home would soon launch 50,000 scholarships for deserving students, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to providing educational opportunities to talented and underprivileged children.Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), said that September 6 was a day of immense pride for the nation.He congratulated Zamurd Khan, his team, the cadets and children for organising such an impressive Defence Day ceremony.“After witnessing this commitment, spirit and passion, I can say with confidence that no enemy can ever defeat this nation,” he said.Atif Ikram Sheikh reaffirmed his continued support for Pakistan Sweet Home, saying that he and the business community would remain committed to extending assistance and cooperation to the organisation.
The ceremony concluded with renewed pledges to honour the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and strengthen the spirit of patriotism and national unity among the younger generation.
