Azerbaijan Highlights ASAN Khidmet Model at UN Regional ICT Sessions in Bangkok

BAKU, September 7 (IN) — Azerbaijan has highlighted the country’s innovative public service delivery model at high-level United Nations regional sessions held in Bangkok, Thailand.The tenth session of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway (APIS) Steering Committee and the fifth session of the Committee on Information and Communications Technology, Science, Technology and Innovation were organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

Semral Aliyev, a representative of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASAN) and co-chair of Working Group 2 on Digital Technologies and Applications of the APIS Steering Committee, participated in the meetings.During the sessions, Aliyev presented the “ASAN Khidmet” model, emphasizing its role in delivering citizen-centered public services and improving governance through modern, accessible and user-focused approaches.He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s experience in applying artificial intelligence and open innovation to public service delivery, underscoring the potential of emerging technologies to make government services more efficient and accessible.

The sessions focused on strengthening regional cooperation in innovation, sharing advanced governance models and exchanging experiences in the use of new technologies for public service provision.Representatives from ESCAP member states and various international organizations attended the event.
