Shehbaz Sharif, Ilham Aliyev Discuss Bilateral Ties in Telephone Conversation

ISLAMABAD, October 10: Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on October 10 held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship, brotherhood and strategic partnership between the two countries.During the conversation, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the continued development of bilateral relations and highlighted the importance of regular high-level meetings and consultations in further strengthening ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the profound respect and esteem that the people of Pakistan hold for President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan.

The two leaders emphasized the need to complement the strong political relations between the two countries with expanded cooperation in economic, trade and investment sectors.Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed satisfaction over the functioning of a service centre established in Islamabad on the basis of Azerbaijan’s successful ASAN Service model. He requested Azerbaijan’s support in extending this model to other regions of Pakistan.President Ilham Aliyev agreed to provide the necessary assistance in this regard.The Pakistani prime minister thanked the Azerbaijani president for his support, describing it as another clear demonstration of the friendship and solidarity between the two countries.During the telephone conversation, the leaders also appreciated Pakistan’s recent diplomatic efforts at regional and international levels to promote dialogue, facilitate mediation and reduce tensions.

President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral matters, as well as the prevailing regional and international situation.The conversation reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and Azerbaijan to further strengthening their strategic partnership and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
