Islamabad (IN): Acting Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syedal Khan Nasar has underscored the importance of mental health awareness, emotional well-being and collective efforts to ensure that everyone has access to the support they need, as the world observes World Mental Health Day on October 10.
In his message on the occasion, the Acting Chairman Senate emphasized that mental health is an essential component of overall well-being and deserves the same attention, understanding and care as physical health. He highlighted the need to create a society where people can openly discuss mental health challenges without fear of stigma, discrimination or social judgment.Syedal Khan Nasar stressed that mental health issues should not be ignored or treated as a source of shame. He called for promoting awareness, encouraging open conversations and fostering a supportive environment in families, educational institutions, workplaces and communities.He further emphasized that collective efforts are necessary to help individuals facing emotional distress and psychological challenges, adding that timely support, compassion and understanding can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
