ICCI Chief Praises Pakistan’s Leadership for Key Role in US–Iran Ceasefire

ISLAMABAD: President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has lauded the country’s civil and military leadership for their proactive and visionary diplomacy in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, terming it a historic achievement that helped avert a potentially devastating regional conflict.He particularly commended Shehbaz Sharif, Syed Asim Munir, and Ishaq Dar for their tireless diplomatic engagement and coordinated efforts, which played a pivotal role in de-escalating tensions and bringing both sides to the negotiating table.Sardar Tahir Mehmood stated that Pakistan’s timely and balanced intervention reflects its growing stature as a responsible global player and a credible mediator in international conflicts. He emphasized that such diplomatic initiatives not only promote peace but also strengthen Pakistan’s global standing and open new avenues for economic cooperation.He further noted that easing tensions in the Gulf region would positively impact global energy markets and boost investor confidence—an important factor for economic stability in developing countries like Pakistan.
