Abubakar Talha Triumphs at ITF J-60 Junior Tennis Championship in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Apr 24 (IN): Pakistan’s Abubakar Talha has clinched the Treet ITF Pakistan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial Junior Tennis Championship (J-60, Leg-3) title at the PTF Tennis Complex.A total of 24 boys and 20 girls from 16 countries—including Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, USA, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Netherlands, and Thailand—are participating in the championship.The event is held annually in memory of Late Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, who served as President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation from 2001 to 2009.

The championship pays tribute to his legacy, passion, and contributions to tennis.The tournament is sponsored by Faisal Movers, Book Karo, OGDCL, Ndure Shoes, and Syngenta Pakistan.In the Boys’ Singles Final, Abubakar Talha delivered a remarkable performance, defeating Singapore’s Luke Jie Xi Ho in a gripping match with a score of 7-6(3), 7-6(7) to secure the ITF J-60 title.In the Girls’ Singles Final, China’s Zhiyu Zhou dominated the contest, overcoming Korea’s Yerin Lim in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 to claim the title. The girls’ and boys’ doubles finals will be played on Saturday.
