ISLAMABAD, Apr 26 (IN): President Asif Ali Zardari visited SANY Heavy Industry in Changsha, Hunan province, on Sunday, where he was briefed on the company’s advanced manufacturing systems, product lines, and research and development initiatives.Chairman Tang Xiuguo and Vice Mayor Qian Lixia were also present during the visit.According to a press release issued by the President Secretariat Media Wing, the visit aimed to explore opportunities for industrial cooperation, technology transfer, and investment between Pakistan and China, particularly in the engineering and construction machinery sector.
During the visit, the president was given a comprehensive briefing on SANY’s core business areas, including concrete machinery, excavators, cranes, piling equipment, and road machinery. He was also informed about the company’s financial performance, including its 2024 revenue of $11.27 billion, and its continued investment in innovation and R&D.The president, accompanied by senior Pakistani officials and diplomats, also toured the company’s flagship No. 18 Factory, a digitally integrated manufacturing facility known for its high level of automation and data-driven production systems.
President Zardari appreciated the technological advancement and scale of SANY’s operations, noting their importance for countries seeking to modernise industrial production and enhance efficiency.He stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in industrial technology, skill development, and joint ventures to support Pakistan’s infrastructure and industrial growth. He also highlighted potential collaboration in construction machinery, digital manufacturing, clean energy, and engineering solutions.Tang Xiuguo reaffirmed SANY’s commitment to innovation and international partnerships, expressing the company’s interest in expanding cooperation with Pakistan in manufacturing, technology exchange, and capacity building.
