Lahore:The Ambassador of Austria to Pakistan, Wolfgang Oliver Kutschera, paid an official visit to Minhaj University Lahore, where he was accorded a warm welcome by senior leadership, including Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Deputy Chairman of the university’s Board of Governors.The Ambassador was received by Vice Chancellor Sajid Mehmood Shahzad, Registrar Khurram Shahzad, and Yasir Ali Khan, Head of the School of Political Science & History, along with other faculty members.
During his visit, Ambassador Kutschera toured key academic and research facilities, including the Ibn Sina Digital Robotic Library & Resource Center, the Shaykh-ul-Islam Institute of Spiritual Studies, and the Department of Religion & Philosophy. He also visited modern laboratories across multiple faculties. Expressing his appreciation, the Ambassador commended the university’s advanced infrastructure and academic standards, noting their alignment with international benchmarks.A high-level meeting between the Ambassador and Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri focused on strengthening bilateral academic cooperation. Both sides discussed prospects for joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and long-term institutional partnerships aimed at fostering global academic engagement.An interactive session with faculty members followed, where discussions centered on academic excellence, institutional development, and areas of mutual collaboration.
The Ambassador praised the faculty’s scholarly contributions and reaffirmed Austria’s interest in enhancing educational linkages with Pakistani institutions.The visit concluded with a luncheon hosted in honor of the Ambassador by Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, attended by deans and faculty members. The event provided an opportunity for informal engagement and further dialogue on future cooperation.On the occasion, a commemorative shield was presented to Ambassador Kutschera as a token of appreciation.
