Quetta, May 1, 2026: Acting Chairman Senate, Sardar Syedal Khan Nasar, met with a delegation of journalists led by Chairman of Balochistan Print Media, Syed Anwar Shah, at the Senate Secretariat. The delegation included Dr. Nashnas Lehri, Munir Baloch, Muhammad Atif Khan Sadozai, Mir Farooq Lango, Farhan Lehri, and others.During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the challenges faced by journalists across the province, including professional difficulties and obstacles in performing their duties. Both sides also held detailed discussions on the promotion of journalism, the role of media, and the welfare of journalists.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Syedal Khan Nasar emphasized that journalists are the eyes and voice of society, playing a vital role in highlighting public issues and acting as a bridge between the government and the people. He noted that in the modern era, media has seen remarkable growth, along with an increase in its responsibilities.He further stated that the government is taking serious steps to resolve journalists’ issues and protect their rights, adding that legislative efforts are ongoing in both houses of Parliament.
He assured that maximum facilities, relief, and protection would be provided to the journalist community.The Acting Chairman urged journalists to promote responsible, positive, and fact-based reporting to ensure the public receives accurate information and that national issues are effectively highlighted. He stressed that the fundamental purpose of journalism is to deliver truth and contribute to national development.
He also noted that the government is working towards economic growth, prosperity, trade, and investment, while addressing the concerns of industrialists, traders, farmers, laborers, and other segments of society. Various initiatives have also been launched for the welfare of journalists.At the conclusion of the meeting, he reiterated his commitment to extending full cooperation in addressing the concerns of the journalist community.
