Gujranwala has taken a significant step toward transforming Pakistan’s industrial future with the inauguration of the country’s first incubation center designed specifically to meet industrial needs. The initiative, launched by the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is being seen as a game-changer for both entrepreneurs and traditional businesses.
The inauguration ceremony brought together key government and administrative figures, including Chairman of the Chief Minister’s Task Force Adnan Afzal Chattha, Commissioner Muhammad Ali, Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed, and SSP Ghiyur Ahmed. The guests were welcomed by Chamber President Ali Humayun Butt and his team, who played a central role in conceptualizing the project.Unlike conventional incubation facilities, this center focuses on bridging the gap between startups and established industries. It is expected to nurture around 500 startups while simultaneously upgrading nearly 200 traditional manufacturing units through digital transformation. Officials estimate that the project will generate over 5,000 employment opportunities in the coming years.
Addressing the audience, Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed highlighted the proactive role of the Chamber’s leadership, noting that their initiatives are already contributing to economic development and youth engagement. He pointed to recent successful projects, including a major industrial expo, as evidence of Gujranwala’s growing influence.Commissioner Muhammad Ali reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting the business community, promising facilitation measures that would ease operational challenges for entrepreneurs and exporters.A key highlight of the event was the announcement of a new government policy aimed at reducing bureaucratic hurdles for industries.
Adnan Afzal Chattha explained that multiple government departments would no longer conduct frequent inspections. Instead, a coordinated monthly visit system would be introduced to resolve industrial issues more efficiently and minimize disruption.Concluding the ceremony, Chamber President Ali Humayun Butt expressed appreciation for the support extended by the district administration, emphasizing that strong public-private collaboration was essential in turning this vision into reality. The launch of this incubation center positions Gujranwala as a leading force in Pakistan’s push toward innovation-led industrial growth, offering new hope for entrepreneurs, investors, and the workforce alike.
