Rawalpindi (IN): In a timely operation aimed at safeguarding public health, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) recovered 1,200 kilograms of unhygienic meat near Chakri on Motorway M-2.During routine patrolling, Motorway Police officers intercepted a suspicious vehicle and discovered a large quantity of meat being transported from Jhang to Rawalpindi under highly unsafe and unhygienic conditions.
Taking immediate action, the Motorway Police alerted the Punjab Food Authority, whose inspection team arrived at the scene and conducted a detailed examination. The authority declared the meat hazardous and unfit for human consumption.The accused was taken into custody on the spot, and a case has been registered against the suspect at Dhamiyal Police Station, Rawalpindi.The swift response of the Motorway Police prevented the distribution of contaminated meat and potentially protected a large number of citizens from serious health risks.
