The Association of Pakistani Graduates from Russia and CIS celebrated the 25th anniversary of its establishment on May 14 with a series of events highlighting the growing academic, cultural and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Russia.On the occasion, Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khorev sent a congratulatory message to the leadership and members of the Association, praising its valuable contribution over the past 25 years in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting a positive and objective image of Russia among the people of Pakistan.
The anniversary celebrations, held in Lahore on May 14-15, were attended by prominent personalities including Minister of State for National Health Services Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Cultural Attaché of the Russian Embassy Gleb Shubin and Head of RUDN University’s Office for International Alumni Affairs Anara Tarbayeva.Speaking on the occasion, Gleb Shubin highlighted the important academic and cultural initiatives led by Association Chairman Dr. Shahid Hasan and President Dr. Ashraf Nizami, noting their role in promoting interest in Russian language, literature and educational cooperation in Pakistan.
Participants unanimously stressed the need to further expand cooperation between the two friendly countries in diverse fields, while acknowledging the significant role played by Pakistani graduates of Soviet and Russian universities in strengthening bilateral ties.
