TASHKENT: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, Ahmed Farooq, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, where he held talks with Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.During the meeting, Tanzila Narbayeva praised Ambassador Ahmed Farooq’s productive efforts over the past three years and acknowledged his significant contribution to deepening the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
Both sides emphasized that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan continues to grow steadily, while the strong political will of the leadership of both countries has elevated bilateral relations to a new level.The discussions focused on the practical implementation of agreements reached between the two nations, enhancing interparliamentary cooperation, increasing the effectiveness of parliamentary friendship groups, and expanding regional contacts.
The two sides also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, and academic and research institutions in Pakistan.Prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, along with cultural and humanitarian ties, were also reviewed during the meeting.Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva invited the Pakistani delegation to actively participate in the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians and the 3rd Global Forum on Sustainable Development Goals, scheduled to be jointly organized with the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Samarkand.
