TASHKENT — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a high-level meeting with a delegation of leading United States companies on the eve of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The meeting brought together prominent figures including U.S. Export-Import Bank President and Chairman John Yovanovich, CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Ben Black, and Chair of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm. Executives and representatives from major corporations such as Air Products, Cove Capital, Templeton Global Investments, Boeing, 77 Construction, BlackRock, FLS, Visa, JP Morgan, Meta, and GULF also participated.President Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction that the meeting continues a positive tradition established in recent years, reflecting the growing interest of American businesses in expanding their presence in Uzbekistan.
He emphasized that economic cooperation remains a key pillar of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States.The Uzbek leader outlined several priority areas for further strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties. These include the development and processing of critical minerals, energy, metallurgy, finance, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and other sectors.
Special attention is being given to advancing concrete joint projects in these fields.Representatives of major U.S. companies expressed their appreciation to the President for the favorable conditions created for investors in Uzbekistan and shared their proposals and future plans.The meeting concluded with a ceremony for the exchange of bilateral agreements with leading U.S. companies, marking another step forward in deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.
