4th Future of Education Conference Begins at Kohsar University Murree, Focuses on AI and Higher Education Reforms

Murree: The 4th Future of Education Conference, a two-day event organized by the University of Sargodha and hosted by Kohsar University Murree, commenced with its inaugural session, bringing together vice chancellors, academic leaders, and education experts from across Pakistan.Former Rector of COMSATS University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Junaid Asghar Zaidi, attended the conference as the chief guest. In his keynote address, he highlighted the emerging trends shaping the future of higher education, emphasizing the transformative role of artificial intelligence, innovation in teaching and learning, and the recruitment of highly qualified PhD faculty to strengthen universities. He also praised the University of Sargodha for its remarkable progress despite limited resources.Welcoming the participants, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, thanked the vice chancellors and distinguished delegates for attending the conference. He presented an overview of the university’s achievements under its Strategic Plan 2023–2028, highlighting advancements in academics, research, governance, infrastructure, international collaborations, quality enhancement, and institutional reforms.

He said the strategic plan has laid a strong foundation for transforming the university into a globally connected, research-intensive institution committed to academic excellence and sustainable development.The inaugural session was attended by vice chancellors from leading public sector universities, including The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Government College University Lahore, Government College University Faisalabad, Government College Women University Faisalabad, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan, Thal University Bhakkar, Kohsar University Murree, Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi, Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, and The Women University Multan.

The session also featured presentations by senior faculty members and administrators, including Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Prof. Dr. Amir Ali, Prof. Dr. Usman Minhas, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Prof. Dr. Shamshad Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Dr. Imran Ghafoor, Dr. Uzma Shahzadi, and Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, who highlighted the achievements, ongoing initiatives, and future priorities of their respective faculties and administrative units in line with the University’s Strategic Plan 2023–2028.
