ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar has described Pakistan-China diplomatic relations as a remarkable journey of mutual trust, respect, friendship and steadfast support, saying the 75-year partnership has evolved into a strong, stable and multifaceted relationship.He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony organized by Diplomatic Focus in Islamabad to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.
The event was attended by the Chinese Ambassador, diplomats, parliamentarians, intellectuals, media representatives and other prominent personalities.Syedaal Khan Nasar said Pakistan-China relations, established on May 21, 1951, had maintained continuity and stability despite changing regional and global circumstances. He noted that both countries had consistently respected each other’s sovereignty, national interests and right to development while standing by each other during challenging times.The Deputy Chairman Senate highlighted significant opportunities for further cooperation in trade, investment, education, agriculture, health, science and technology, energy, infrastructure and people-to-people exchanges.He described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a key manifestation of the bilateral partnership, creating new opportunities for regional connectivity, infrastructure development, energy and industrial cooperation.
Emphasizing the importance of parliamentary and public diplomacy, he said parliamentary exchanges, media, academia, business communities and people-to-people contacts could play an important role in promoting greater mutual understanding and further strengthening bilateral relations.Syedaal Khan Nasar congratulated the leadership and people of China on the 75th anniversary and expressed hope that the enduring Pakistan-China partnership would continue to contribute to peace, prosperity, development and regional stability.He also appreciated Diplomatic Focus, particularly CEO Mian Fazal Elahi, for organizing the event to highlight the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China and promote greater understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
