Philippine Ambassador Joins Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day Celebrations in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (IN) Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, accompanied by his wife, Mme. Alicia Kalaw-Fernandez, joined the leadership, management and staff of Maroof International Hospital (MIH) in celebrating Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.

The Ambassador congratulated the people of Pakistan on their national day and emphasized the importance of strong people-to-people ties in further strengthening the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and the Philippines. He highlighted the shared bonds of goodwill, mutual respect and friendship that continue to bring the two nations closer.During the visit, Ambassador Fernandez and Mme. Kalaw-Fernandez toured Maroof International Hospital and its Early Intervention Therapy Unit at Silver Oaks. They were briefed on the hospital’s healthcare, rehabilitation and specialized services.

The Independence Day celebration featured the national anthems of both Pakistan and the Philippines, symbolizing the warm and friendly relations between the two countries and their peoples.On the occasion, Ambassador Fernandez was presented with an appreciation shield by MIH Chairman Ch. Naseer Ahmed, CEO Haroon Naseer and Dr. Mir Abdul Waheed in recognition of his participation in the celebration.The visit provided a valuable opportunity to promote people-to-people contacts, mutual understanding and friendship between Pakistanis and Filipinos, reaffirming the commitment of both sides to further deepen the people-to-people dimension of Pakistan–Philippines relations.
