Khaqan Waheed Khawaja Calls for Responsible Patriotism, Affordable Medicines and a Greener Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (IN): Pakistan Awami Quwat Party Chairman and Chairman of Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja, has urged citizens to celebrate Independence Day by demonstrating genuine responsibility towards the country and avoiding actions that may cause harm to others.

Addressing a delegation led by Tasawwur Imtiaz Abbasi of Helping Hand for Orphan Children, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja said Pakistanis should treat their country like their own home—keeping it clean, protecting it and avoiding unnecessary acts or words that could harm others.During his visit to Ghauri Town, he inaugurated SMS Pharmacy, where he received a warm welcome. Pharmacy management representatives Nasir Parcha, Naeem Basit Satti, Karam Hussain, Amjad Saleh, Ahmed Bakhsh, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan, Raja Kamran alias Kami, Sohrab Latif Baig and Naeem Mughal were also present.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja also launched a tree plantation campaign in Union Council 65, Khanna, Burma Town and Sanam Town, alongside Chairman Amjad Hussain, by planting a sapling.Prominent healthcare professional Dr. Rauf Nasir Chaudhry also announced his decision to join the Pakistan Awami Quwat Party. Welcoming his inclusion, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja said he was proud that educated and professional members of society were joining the party, adding that their participation would strengthen its policies, manifesto and political narrative.

Speaking about the plantation campaign, he said tree plantation was not only a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ but also one of Pakistan’s most pressing environmental needs. He called for greater public participation in tree plantation and environmental protection.At the inauguration of SMS Pharmacy, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja stressed the need to make medicines more affordable while ensuring that quality is never compromised. He urged pharmaceutical companies to take practical measures to make essential medicines accessible to ordinary citizens.The Independence Day celebrations concluded with cake-cutting, as participants expressed their commitment to Pakistan’s progress, prosperity and well-being.
