Islamabad (IN): A special ceremony was held with the cooperation of the National Press Club to honour Pakistani students who brought pride to the country by winning the World Champion and Best Delegation titles at the Global Model United Nations (GMUN) in Singapore.The students were congratulated on their outstanding achievement. Speaking at the ceremony, Westminster School Coordinator Dr. Shayan Khan said that Pakistani students represented different countries and actively participated in debates on global issues, diplomatic negotiations, policymaking sessions and public speaking competitions.
The 10-member Pakistani delegation delivered an impressive performance among more than 700 students from over 50 countries in Singapore. The students won eight Best Diplomacy Awards and two Best Speech Awards, demonstrating their exceptional diplomatic and communication skills.
The students said that platforms such as Model United Nations help young people develop confidence, diplomacy, dialogue, teamwork and a deeper understanding of global issues.They said the success of Pakistani students was proof that the country’s youth have immense potential to project a positive image of Pakistan at the international level when provided with the right opportunities and platforms.At the conclusion of the ceremony, the students were highly appreciated and commended for bringing honour to Pakistan at both national and international levels.
