ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Pakistan hosted a special seminar for more than 60 Pakistani students who have secured scholarships to pursue higher education at leading Russian universities.The event brought together prospective students selected through the Government of Russia’s scholarship programme, the Open Doors International Olympiad, and competitions organised independently by Russian universities.
Participants attended both in person and online.The scholarship recipients are expected to begin their studies soon at universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod and other Russian cities.Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev welcomed the successful applicants and congratulated them on their achievement. He highlighted the opportunity to study at Russian universities known for their strong academic traditions and high educational standards.
The seminar also featured presentations by Dr. Faisal Javaid, Dean of the Department of International Relations at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST); Dr. Gul-i-Ayesha Bhatti, Assistant Professor at the NUST School of Social Sciences and Humanities and Director of the Eurasia Chapter at the Consortium for Asia Pacific & Eurasian Studies (CAPS PAK); and Saif Ullah Tariq Butt, a Pakistani PhD student at Perm State University in Russia.
The speakers provided the students with practical guidance on university life, academic studies and managing everyday affairs in Russia. They also addressed questions from the scholarship recipients and shared insights aimed at helping them adjust smoothly to their new academic and social environment.The seminar offered the young Pakistani scholars an opportunity to gain valuable information before their departure and prepare for life in Russia’s diverse and multicultural cities.The Embassy expressed confidence that the students will make the most of their educational opportunities and further strengthen academic and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Russia.
