Turkmenistan Ambassador Highlights Regional Connectivity, TAPI Progress at LCCI Reception in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Sept 18: Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Movlamov, speaking as Chief Guest at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Ambassadors’ Dinner 2026 at Serena Hotel Islamabad, emphasized the importance of stronger regional connectivity, trade and economic cooperation.Addressing the gathering on behalf of Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Ambassador Movlamov appreciated the LCCI’s hospitality and highlighted the vital role of the business community of Lahore and Punjab in boosting exports, attracting investment, creating employment and supporting economic growth.

He said Turkmenistan attaches great importance to regional connectivity, particularly through transport and energy links. He highlighted the proposed “Arkadagyň ak ýoly” (Arkadag’s White Path) transit and energy corridor, along with progress on the TAPI and TAP projects.The Ambassador said construction of the strategically important Serhetabat–Herat section of the TAPI gas pipeline is planned for completion this year, creating conditions for natural gas supplies to Afghanistan from 2027.

He noted that these projects could strengthen regional energy connectivity while opening new opportunities for Pakistan’s industrial development and sustainable economic growth.
