ISLAMABAD | March 15, 2026: Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has urged financially stable Members of Parliament and cabinet ministers to voluntarily contribute their salaries to the national treasury in light of the country’s current economic challenges.Speaking to media representatives outside Parliament, the minister stressed that public representatives should demonstrate a spirit of sacrifice and responsibility to help ease the burden on the people.
He revealed that he himself has been serving as a federal minister for the past 24 months without drawing any salary or receiving official perks.Sheikh emphasized that those who are financially capable should step forward and donate their salaries for the national cause. He expressed confidence that fellow lawmakers, driven by patriotism and a sense of duty, would positively respond and contribute to strengthening the country’s economy.He added that such gestures of selflessness from leadership can send a strong message of solidarity with the public during difficult economic times.
