Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani held separate meetings with Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar and Senate Chief Whip and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla.
During the meetings, detailed discussions were held on the overall national situation, the Senate session commencing on April 7, regional developments, legislation, and austerity measures.The Chairman Senate highlighted preparations for the upcoming session and the legislative agenda, emphasizing the need to prioritize public welfare. On the occasion, the Deputy Chairman and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla termed the austerity measures timely and commendable.While discussing the regional situation, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani stressed the importance of national unity, stating that Pakistan stands for peace and stability.
He added that in the current circumstances, all institutions and leadership must work together to tackle challenges with unity.The meetings also reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening Parliament and prioritizing national interest.
