Islamabad on High Alert as US-Iran Talks Expected, Security Tightened Across Capital

Security in Islamabad has been further tightened ahead of a potential second round of talks between the United States and Iran, according to reports citing official sources.Authorities have suspended heavy and public transport in parts of the capital until further notice. In addition, two major hotels in Islamabad have reportedly been instructed to vacate premises before evening as part of heightened security arrangements.

Advance teams of foreign delegations have already started arriving in the capital, sources said.Meanwhile, the Metro Bus service has been suspended between PIMS Station and Pak Secretariat, while operations continue from Saddar Station to Kachehri, metro authorities confirmed.According to reports by international media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal and CBS News, the next round of US-Iran talks is likely to be held in Islamabad on Monday, with discussions focused on reviving diplomatic engagement.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said earlier that the upcoming in-person talks between Washington and Tehran may take place in Pakistan, noting Islamabad’s role in facilitating dialogue.She described Pakistan as a key mediator in the process, adding that it has played a central role in facilitating communication between the two sides.Authorities in Islamabad remain on high alert as preparations continue for possible high-level diplomatic activity.
