Karachi (IN) April 20, 2026: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic ties with the Sultanate of Oman, following a high-level meeting between HEC Executive Director Dr. Zia Ul Haq and Oman’s Consul General Engr. Sami Abdullah Al-Khanjari at the Omani Consulate in Karachi.The HEC delegation, which included Advisor (Research and Innovation Division) Dr. Muhammad Ali Nasir, Commission Member Dr. Aurangzeb Khan, and the Vice Chancellor of Dewan University Karachi, discussed establishing a comprehensive framework to enhance institutional linkages between the higher education sectors of both countries.
The dialogue focused on promoting joint ventures, research collaboration, and academic exchange initiatives.Dr. Zia Ul Haq highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Oman as a strong foundation for expanding educational cooperation, assuring full support from HEC to accelerate partnerships. Engr. Al-Khanjari welcomed HEC’s proactive approach and expressed Oman’s interest in turning these discussions into practical initiatives that benefit students and academic communities. Both sides agreed to develop a clear roadmap to ensure the realization of shared academic goals.
