RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Indonesia have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening longstanding defence and military ties as Indonesian Navy Chief Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.
The high-level meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security and ways to further expand bilateral military cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia.Both sides reviewed the existing military-to-military relationship and expressed satisfaction over its steady progress. They also emphasised the need to elevate defence cooperation through enhanced professional training, closer institutional collaboration and increased participation in joint military exercises.Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further consolidate its historic and brotherly ties with Indonesia, underscoring the importance of defence and security cooperation as key pillars of the bilateral relationship.
Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their valuable contributions to regional peace and stability.The meeting reflects the growing momentum in Pakistan-Indonesia strategic engagement, with both countries seeking to broaden institutional linkages, strengthen training opportunities and expand defence collaboration.The latest high-level interaction also underscores the shared importance attached by Islamabad and Jakarta to stronger military-to-military relations and closer coordination in response to the evolving regional security environment.
