The Embassy of Algeria in Islamabad marked the anniversary of National Student Day on May 19, paying tribute to the historic role played by Algerian students and youth during the country’s struggle for independence.In a statement issued on the occasion, the embassy recalled the historic events of May 19, 1956, when educated and patriotic Algerian students responded to the call of the nation by joining the ranks of the National Liberation Army in defense of freedom, dignity, and national sovereignty.
The embassy highlighted the important contributions of Algerian youth and students both within Algeria and abroad, praising their active role in various fields and their efforts in proudly representing their homeland across the world.Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of Algerian students in Pakistan, the embassy stated that it remains dedicated to protecting and supporting their interests wherever they may be in the host country.
The statement also encouraged students to contribute actively to the development and progress of the nation and called on them to participate with patriotic spirit in the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for July 2.The embassy urged young people to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of previous generations and continue working toward national development and unity.
