ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar has said that the potential ceasefire and progress toward direct negotiations between the United States and Iran mark a major and historic diplomatic success for Pakistan, receiving widespread global recognition.
Addressing a ceremony and concluding session held at Parliament House Islamabad in honor of a 92-member delegation of National Workshop Balochistan-19 (NWB-19), he stated that Pakistan’s political and military leadership played a balanced, effective, and prudent role in reducing decades-long mistrust between the two sides, helping avert a major global conflict.
He noted that the resumption of dialogue between the US and Iran after nearly half a century reflects Pakistan’s realistic and peace-oriented foreign policy. The development, he added, has significantly eased regional tensions, strengthened global peace and stability, and helped save countless human lives.The Deputy Chairman said Pakistan’s constructive role is being widely appreciated by the international community, diplomatic circles, and global media, reflecting the country’s rising global stature.
He further revealed that interest has been expressed in holding future rounds of negotiations in Pakistan, underscoring its recognition as a responsible, reliable, and peace-loving state.He emphasized that Pakistan has always advocated peace at regional and global levels and has demonstrated its commitment through practical efforts. He added that elements spreading negative propaganda against Pakistan have faced setbacks following this diplomatic achievement, while the country’s leadership has sent a strong positive message through unity and wisdom.Highlighting the importance of civil-military harmony, he said joint efforts in the national interest are key to ensuring the country’s strength, stability, and development.
He also appreciated the role of the media in effectively presenting the national narrative and promoting Pakistan’s positive image globally.Speaking about the National Workshop Balochistan-19, he said the platform, active since 2017, has been promoting meaningful dialogue on key national issues from Balochistan’s perspective. Such forums, he noted, are essential for fostering national harmony, sustainable development, and collective thinking.He lauded the joint hosting of the workshop by the Government of Balochistan and Headquarters 12 Corps Quetta, saying close coordination between civil and military institutions is vital for national progress and stability. He also highlighted Balochistan’s strategic and economic importance, terming it a key region for Pakistan’s future growth.
During the concluding session, the Deputy Chairman also held an interactive discussion with participants on the parliamentary system, legislative processes, and responsibilities of elected representatives. Participants showed keen interest and asked various questions.At the end of the ceremony, he distributed certificates among participants and awarded shields to those with outstanding performance, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to playing an active role in promoting global peace, stability, and development.
