FBR Engages Sialkot Business Community in Tax Reforms Awareness Session

On the instructions of the Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and under supervision of the Member (TPS), Ms. Tehmina Aamer, the Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) conducted a Tax Awareness & Outreach Session at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in collaboration with representatives of the Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The session was organized as part of FBR’s ongoing outreach campaign aimed at promoting tax awareness, encouraging voluntary tax compliance, and strengthening engagement with the business community.The FBR delegation included Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz, Secretary (Tax Education & Facilitation), and Mr. Abdul Rehman Sheikh, Second Secretary (Tax Facilitation).The session was attended by Syed Ahtesham Mazhar, President SCC&I, Dr. Maryam Nouman, President Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Sialkot, along with executive members and representatives of the business community.Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz highlighted the role and functions of the FBR and shared a detailed presentation on tax awareness and recent reforms undertaken to facilitate taxpayers and improve service delivery.During the session, participants were briefed on key initiatives introduced under the leadership of the Chairman FBR, including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Track & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Faceless Customs System, Cargo Tracking System, Direct Port Delivery System, Reward & Rating System, and the use of Video Analytics for production monitoring in various sectors.The participants were informed that these reforms are aimed at enhancing transparency, broadening the tax base, improving taxpayer facilitation, and promoting public confidence in the FBR as a modern and taxpayer-friendly organization.

The participants appreciated the outreach initiatives undertaken by the FBR and acknowledged the importance of continued engagement between the tax administration and the business community for promoting a culture of voluntary tax compliance.The event concluded with the distribution of souvenirs among the representatives of the participating organizations.
