Islamabad, August 4: Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, on Monday expressed confidence that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would secure a majority of seats in the third and final phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.Speaking to a private television channel, Malik said the PML-N had already achieved a simple majority in the first two phases of the elections and was optimistic that public support would enable the party to repeat its success in the final phase.
Responding to concerns raised by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) over the electoral process, he urged political parties to respect the mandate of the people and accept the election results. He maintained that the AJK elections had been conducted in a transparent, free, and fair manner.On the issue of administrative reforms, Barrister Aqeel Malik said the creation of new provinces could contribute to better governance, improved administrative efficiency, and more effective delivery of public services.
