PNCA Hosts “Media Workshop 2026” to Promote Responsible Journalism and National Narrative

ISLAMABAD, May 7: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) organized “Media Workshop 2026” under the banner of “Bunyan Al-Marsoos” as part of the first anniversary commemorations of Marka-e-Haq, with the objective of promoting responsible journalism, strengthening the national narrative, and equipping youth with modern media skills and trends.

Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture Farah Naz Akbar attended the workshop as the chief guest and highlighted the importance of fact-based reporting, ethical journalism, and the promotion of national values among the younger generation.She praised PNCA for organizing such a meaningful initiative, stating that professional training platforms for youth were essential for enhancing national awareness and preparing future media professionals.The workshop drew active participation from journalists, media experts, students, and young professionals from different fields of communication and journalism. Various sessions focused on journalism, media production, digital media, national narrative building, and responsible reporting practices.

Prominent speakers at the event included Farkhanda Shamim, Zulfiqar Baig, Shakeel Ahmed Awan, and Azher Hafeez, who shared insights on the evolving role of media in society.Interactive question-and-answer sessions and practical learning opportunities were also arranged to help participants better understand modern media dynamics and challenges.Speakers emphasized that responsible media plays a crucial role in strengthening the national narrative and projecting a positive image of Pakistan internationally.

They also underlined the importance of promoting unity, national identity, security, and recognizing the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.Director General PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali thanked the guests, speakers, and participants for contributing to the success of the workshop.

He reiterated PNCA’s commitment to organizing constructive programmes for youth empowerment, cultural promotion, and positive national engagement in the future.At the conclusion of the event, Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar and DG PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali distributed certificates among the participants and congratulated the organizers on successfully conducting the workshop.
