RCCI Applauds Fuel Price Cut, Calls It Timely Relief for Economy

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has praised the government’s decision to lower petroleum prices, describing it as a much-needed and well-timed relief for both businesses and the general public.

RCCI President Usman Shaukat commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for announcing a notable reduction in petrol and high-speed diesel prices, following the downward trend in global oil markets. He noted that the move demonstrates the government’s intent to transfer the benefits of declining international fuel prices directly to consumers. “Lower fuel costs will reduce transportation and production expenses, easing the burden on industries, traders, and ultimately the common citizen,” he said.

The RCCI chief also acknowledged Pakistan’s positive diplomatic efforts in supporting a temporary ceasefire between Iran and the United States, highlighting that improved regional stability has contributed to the decline in global oil prices.

Usman Shaukat emphasized that the reduction in fuel prices will have a ripple effect across the economy, particularly aiding the agriculture and logistics sectors, while also helping to curb inflation. He further urged the government to maintain such business-friendly and public-oriented policies to promote economic growth, enhance competitiveness, and improve the ease of doing business in Pakistan.
