Meeting Held at Station Headquarters with Station Commander; RCCI Delegation Discusses Business Community Issues
Sohail Altaf, Group Leader Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) and former President, held a meeting at Station Headquarters with the Station Commander, Brigadier Ali Anjum Syed. The meeting was also attended by Colonel Shakeel and Colonel Wali.During the meeting, matters pertaining to the business community and coordination with the two Cantonment Boards—Rawalpindi Cantonment and Chaklala Cantonment—were discussed in detail.
The participants exchanged views on improving facilitation mechanisms for the business community and ensuring timely resolution of administrative and civic issues affecting commercial activities.The Station Commander emphasized that all matters related to the business community would be addressed on priority by the concerned departments and officers. He further directed that any complaints received from stakeholders should be handled swiftly and in an efficient manner to ensure transparency and ease of doing business.
In order to strengthen oversight and improve grievance redressal, the Station Commander instructed the formation of an Integrity Committee comprising representatives from RCCI, the business community, the Cantonment Boards, and Station Headquarters.
The committee will specifically address complaints related to staff integrity and ensure prompt action on reported issues.Sohail Altaf apprised the Station Commander that RCCI is already actively working on similar principles under its flagship anti-corruption and awareness campaign:“Say No to Bribe, Do Business with Dignity” (رشوت سے انکار، باعزت کاروبار)The initiative promotes ethical business practices and strongly discourages bribery, extortion, and any form of illegal gratification, encouraging the business community to uphold integrity and transparency in all commercial dealings.The Station Commander appreciated RCCI’s efforts and assured full support for the initiative. He also reiterated that necessary directions would be passed to relevant offices to further strengthen cooperation with RCCI and the business community.
