ISLAMABAD, July 7, 2026: The Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa (CAMEA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), in collaboration with the Pakistan Africa Institute for Development and Research (PAIDAR), commemorated Rwanda’s Liberation Day with an event highlighting the country’s remarkable transformation and the growing partnership between Pakistan and Rwanda.
The event brought together Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Chairman BoG, ISSI; Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Harerimana Fatou; Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Rwanda, Muhammad Naeem Khan; Director CAMEA Dr. Amina Khan; and Chief Guest Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, President of PAIDAR.Speakers paid tribute to Rwanda’s journey from the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi to becoming a model of peace, reconciliation, stability, digital innovation, and sustainable development.
They also praised the country’s achievements in governance, healthcare, technology, and economic progress.The speakers emphasized the growing momentum in Pakistan–Rwanda relations, highlighting expanding cooperation in trade, education, technology, climate change, green energy, and people-to-people exchanges. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing Afro-Asian cooperation through continued diplomatic engagement and mutual collaboration.
