Quetta: Syed Aman Shah, Provincial President of Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan, has expressed deep concern over the escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran, warning that if the dangerous conflict is not brought under control immediately, its consequences will extend far beyond the Middle East and could plunge the entire world—particularly developing countries such as Pakistan—into a severe economic and political crisis. He stated that the ongoing military operations, missile strikes and rising tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have become a serious threat to international peace and security. He warned that any disruption to global oil supplies through the Strait could result in a sharp increase in fuel prices, intensified inflation, disruptions to international trade, and widespread economic instability, with direct adverse effects on Pakistan and many other countries.Syed Aman Shah emphasized that the Awaam Pakistan Party believes in dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful conflict resolution rather than war, violence, and the use of force.
He said the world needs peace, stability, and mutual respect instead of further confrontation and escalation. He urged major world powers to fulfill their responsibilities and refrain from actions that could push the entire region toward a devastating war. He called upon the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the UN Security Council, and other international institutions to play an immediate and effective diplomatic role by facilitating a ceasefire, reducing tensions, and creating the conditions for meaningful negotiations. Such efforts, he said, are essential to protect the lives of millions of innocent people and safeguard global peace.Syed Aman Shah further urged the Government of Pakistan to closely monitor the evolving situation and adopt timely and effective measures to protect national interests, ensure energy security, maintain economic stability, and shield the public from the potential economic consequences of the conflict. He concluded by stating that Pakistan should continue to play a balanced diplomatic role in promoting peace, stability, and dialogue across the region, as lasting peace remains the foundation of global development and prosperity.
