The Ambassador of Tajikistan, His Excellency Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, visited the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) along with Second Secretary Aminjon Gulzoda. Upon arrival, Acting President Saad Jamil Irfani, Vice President Faisal Sattar Mughal, and executive members warmly welcomed the distinguished guests.
During the visit, the Ambassador praised the success of the Karachi Expo but stated that he could not attend due to the recent political situation in Islamabad and travel restrictions. He added that his full support remains with the business community of Gujranwala.
The Ambassador highlighted that construction projects covering over 2 million square meters are currently underway in Tajikistan, where there is strong demand for Gujranwala’s sanitary products, cooking ware, and kitchen appliances. He invited local businessmen to establish industrial units in Tajikistan and announced the availability of space in special economic zones.He also offered opportunities for Gujranwala traders to acquire land for rice cultivation in Tajikistan and proposed joint ventures in linseed (Alsi) oil production. He noted that Tajikistan is among the safest countries in the world and that Gujranwala’s products have strong potential to compete with Chinese goods in the market.
Acting President Saad Jamil Irfani welcomed the Ambassador’s proposals and stated that Gujranwala’s industrialists are ready to benefit from Central Asian markets.At the end of the visit, the Ambassador formally invited GCCI to participate in an upcoming expo in Tajikistan.
